Don’t Miss the Sausage Fest

Jared got a sausage-grinder attachment for his Kitchen-Aid for Christmas and has been bragging about his sausage ever since. I love me a breakfast sandwich and thought that home-made sausage would make the whole deal that much better, so I borrowed his fancy toy and made up a batch for myself.

It’s a fun process — I cut up the pork shoulder and put in a bunch of spices with it to soak in for a day or two. It definitely turned out tasty — a little lighter, brighter, and fresher tasting than store-bought sausage. As we get more herbs coming in this summer I’ll try some batches with fresh stuff from the garden.
